4th Grade Teacher
Rebekah Sturgill has seen what the end of a classical, Christian education looks like. Now, she can’t wait to be involved in forming the hearts and minds of classical students from the very beginning. A graduate of St. John College in Santa Fe, New Mexico – a Great Books School, Mrs. Sturgill is the fourth grade teacher at Christ the Savior Academy and also the fifth grade math teacher.
Mrs. Sturgill previously taught math and science at New Mexico School of the Arts. She has also taught English As A Second Language to Chinese students as she travelled throughout the world. The move from a public school to a private, Christian school and, specifically, to a classical grammar school, is exciting for her. “It excites me to get to teach in a school that teaches the faith, which is the center of my life,” She said. “I’m also excited to get involved in classical education from the grammar level – to show children the exciting adventure that classical education can take them on. I’m looking forward to a return to wonder. There is not as much of a sense of wonder in the higher grades.”
